About Us

Fair Do’s Siopa Teg CIC is based in the Canton area of West Cardiff about a twenty-five minute walk from the world famous Cardiff Castle and Millennium Stadium.

Fair Do’s, a not for profit company, began as an independent business set up by Jan Tucker and moved to its current location in 1998. In 2014, Fair Do’s became a Community Interest Company (CIC).

The majority of products we sell come from the developing world and because of our belief in fair trading terms, we can guarantee that buying those products directly benefits the people that produced them.

We try to make sure that everything in our shop is bought from suppliers who carry the fair trade mark, or have been accredited by the British Association for Fair Trade Shops (BAFTS) or the World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO). Occasionally we stock products from the UK or Europe that still fit into our Fair Trade ethos, either because they use fairly traded ingredients or help small, marginalised groups.

We also have an array of educational materials available to members of the public. We frequently open the shop for groups by prior arrangement outside of our regular opening hours (e.g. in evenings). A number of our passionate supporters also use our ‘sale or return’ service to spread the Fair Trade message in schools, churches, workplaces and at community events. We supply goods in this way to people across Wales and England.

Fair Do’s Siopa Teg CIC are proud members of the British Association for Fair Trade Shops (BAFTS), and Fair Trade Cardiff. We also work closely with Fair Trade Wales.
